Mr. Sterling Baxter

Birthplace: Saint John, New Brunswick

Mr. Sterling Baxter, age 62 years, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hospice Unit, with his family by his side. Born in Saint John, N.B., he joined the RCAF following high school, where he met and married his late wife Susan on June 4, 1966. Their career in the military led them to many different locations including Edmonton, Lahr, Germany, Winnipeg and North Bay, before settling and retiring in Thunder Bay. Following his retirement from the RCAF, he was employed with Canada Post until he retired in August 2002. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and friend. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by daughter Raquel (Rob Martin), son Gary and companion Monique MacEachern, sisters Doreen (Joe) Stack, Barb (Eldon) Pitt, brothers Sidney (Betty) Baxter, Ronald (Eleanor) Baxter, Glendon (Judith) Baxter, all of Clifton Royal, N.B. and sister Betty (Len) Kuchynski of Courtenay, B.C. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Susan in September 1998, father Sidney and mother Florence Baxter. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 6th, when family and friends will gather at Corpus Christi R.C. Church for services at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Rev. P.M. Stilla, V.F. All services will be completed in the church with interment to take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph's Foundation- Hospice Unit would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Hospice Unit and to Drs. Davis and Simpson. "We will see you again....but not yet."
