ALBANESE-Mrs. Fortunata (Fanny) Albanese, age 101, passed away December 6th, 2005 at Bethammi Nursing Home. Fanny, Christened Fortunata Arges (Tomaino), was born and raised in Port Arthur, attending St. Andrew¹s School. As a young woman, Fanny studied millinery and made hats for a number of local weddings. She also worked as a salesclerk at Woolworth¹s. Fanny married John Albanese in 1923 and together they raised their family of seven children. Throughout her life, Fanny devoted herself to family. She loved to cook, sew, garden, and was actively involved in her church parish. She will always be fondly remembered for her generous spirit and her wise advice. Fanny is survived by her son Rino (his wife Peggy), her son Philip (his wife Geraldine), her daughter-in-law Jeanie, her son Leonard (his wife Elva), her son John (his wife Luella), her daughter Clara (her husband Jake), and her 29 grandchildren. Fanny was predeceased by her son Ronald, her daughter Rosalie and her son-in-law Jake Trembley. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9th when family and friends will gather at Corpus Christi R.C. Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Richard Kowalchuk. Interment will follow in St Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 North Court Street, Thursday (This Evening) from 6 until 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 7 p.m. As expressions of sympathy the family respectfully requests memorials to St. Joseph's Care Group, designated to Bethammi Nursing Home.
