ANDERSON- On Thursday, May 18th, 2006 Allan Joseph Peter Anderson of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully at the T.B.R.H.S.C. at the age of 67.
Allan was born in Sioux Lookout on April 13, 1939 to Jennie Anderson and Roy Wynn. Much of Allan's young life was spent in the bush and lakes of Allenwater Bridge trapping, fishing and hunting. He later attended St. Joseph's Boarding school. Allan had worked at various jobs throughout his lifetime, one of his favourites was working with the M.N.R. at the fire towers throughout N.W. Ontario. During his time with the M.N.R he received a medal for bravery after saving the lives of two children caught in a house fire. On February 2, 1957 Allan married Irene Binquis of Umfreville and together they had seven children.
Allan is survived by his only wife Irene and children: Lorraine, Diana (Jim) Nayanookeesic, Betty, Billy Joe (Roxane), Marty (Lucille), Albert, seventeen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Allan is also survived by his mother Jennie Booth, brothers: Jim (Edna) Wynn, Frank (Evelyn) Wynn, Harry Wynn, Arthur (Cathy) Booth, sisters Lena Holbrook, Sarah Ann, Rose (Bill) Stanley, Caroline (Larry) Hubley, Aunt Emily Clace, Margy Schuggman and uncle Norman Anderson. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was predeceased by his father Roy Wynn, son Clifford and brother Edward Wynn.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Larry Kroker presiding. A memorial service will also be held in Armstrong on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.
