ABLESON- Mrs. Ellen Ableson (nee Maki) passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor on October 17, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 2001 and by her parents and one brother. Ellen is survived by her sister Eva (David) Gray, nephews Richard and Douglas (Mary), cousin Henry Palo (Helen) and special friend Mary Beaucage. Ellen was born on August 7, 1922 in Port Arthur, Ontario. In her younger days she was an avid bowler and won many trophies. Ellen enjoyed travelling especially to Finland with Gordon and her many trips to various places in Manitoba. Ellen was a gentle, caring soul and will be greatly missed by nephews Richard and Douglas. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Roseview for all their support and compassion shown to Ellen. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Lloyd Ivany presiding. The services will be complete in the chapel. A reception will follow in the Sargent Family Reception Centre. Interment will take place at a later time in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Home. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
