AHO- Mrs. Ester Aho, age 90 years, passed away unexpectedly in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Sunday, March 18, 2007. Ester was born Dec. 13, 1916 in Juhankoski, Finland. She immigrated to Canada in 1949 and it was here that she married Lauri Heiniemi. He predeceased her and later in life she married Raymond Aho, who also has predeceased her. Ester began her work career as a cook at the Hoito and then went on to work in the kitchens at the P.A. General Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain her friends. Ester loved to travel and made trips to Finland, Hawaii and California. Her most memorable times were spent wintering in Florida for several years. Ester loved to sing would often burst into song. She sang in the Finnish Ladies Choir "O.R.A.S." and was proud to have been a member. She was a member of Lappe Lutheran Church. Ester is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sylvi Milne of Lake Worth, Florida (presently here), granddaughters Deborah and Heather (also here), great grandchildren and other relatives in the U.S.A. and Finland, special friend Audrey and other friends here and in Finland. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 26th at 10:30 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Teemu Haataja officiating. The interment will take place in Lappe Lutheran Cemetery following a reception at the Sargent Family Reception Centre.
