Mrs. Aurora Antaki
Wednesday, January 28, 1925 - Tuesday, May 05, 2009

Birthplace: Montevideo, Uruguay

Mrs. Aurora (Petty) Antaki It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Aurora Antaki, age 84 years. she leaves behind her daughter Maria and her cherished grandchildren Nicole, Alex, Kate, Mackenzie and Nathaniel, sister Esther and numerous nephews and nieces all in Uruguay as well as numerous friends around the world. Petty's pride and joy was her family especially her grandchildren. She held a very special bond with each and every one of them and supported them in their extracurricular activities. They truly meant the world to her and they will miss her presence. However, her spirit will live within them and she will never be far behind cheering them on. She will be joined in heaven by the love of her life, Nicolas. They met in Montevideo, Uruguay and eventually immigrated to Montreal, Quebec, where their only daughter Maria Nina (Ninotchka) was born. After traveling around the world, Petty eventually moved to Thunder Bay when her last grandchild Nathaniel, was about one year old in order to be closer to all of them. Petty dedicated her life to her family, which brought her much joy. She was an avid gardener, artist and outdoor enthusiast. She could be seen everyday walking her dog Lucy and taking in our great gifts from nature. She truly loved life and was thankful for everything it offered. WE WILL MISS HER SMILE, HER LAUGHTER AND HER WARMTH. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 6:30 pm in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Richard Kowalchuk of Corpus Christi R.C. Church officiating. As expressions of sympathy the family respectfully requests memorials to the Northern Heart Research Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay.
