THE CHRONICLE JOURNAL FOR TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2009 WITH PHOTO Bendwell-Murphy-Cyr It is with great sadness that the family of Alexandra Bendwell-Murphy-Cyr announce her passing on Monday, August 24, 2009. Alexandra Bendwell was born on June 8, 1917 at New Richmond, Quebec. She moved to Ontario in 1954 with her first husband and five children. Alexandra was a long-time resident of Jellicoe and Geraldton, ON. She is survived by five children; Mario (Jovita) Murphy of Faro, Yukon, Vernon (Marie) Murphy of Thunder Bay, Joyce (Fernand) Bilodeau of Thunder Bay, Ronnie (Betty) Murphy of Whitehorse, Yukon and Marielle (Marcel) Tardif of Thunder Bay and numerous step-children, brother Raoul Bendwell in P.Q. and sisters Lydea Arsenault of New Brunswick and Patricia Cyr of Geraldton. She had a special place in her heart for Paul (Nicole) Cyr of Marathon, ON. Grandma will be missed by numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Grandma also had a special place for and will be deeply missed by the big rat and small rat. Alexandra was predeceased by her first husband James Murphy and second husband Edward Cyr A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Richard Kowalchuk officiating. Interment will be held in Geraldton, ON at a later date.
